ParaNatural 51104 Luxury Wax & HPSP Wicks

I'm currently testing HPSP wicks with Coconut Soy Hybrid 51104 Wax by Titan Wax.  I'm hoping that this will be helpful to some when narrowing down which wicks to use.  Feel free to adjust based on your wax/vessel/fragrance oil combo.  I'm using a vessel (Libbey Heavy Rocks Base) that's 3-1/8" inner diameter at the top, so if yours is smaller, you will want to wick down.  It's best to test a couple wick sizes in a few wick series or brands to see what you like the best!  Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have any questions at all.  I'm here to help.

About HPSP Wicks...
Constructed of specially treated cotton, Special High-Performance Flat Wicks by São Vitor are often used in container candles, pillars, tapers, decorative, votives, and tealight candles because it minimizes soot. HPSP candle wicks feature a long strand and tight braids to inhibit carbon deposit and afterglow.  These are designed to use in coconut blended waxes.

I'm using a 3-1/8" jar and the wicks I'm using are HPSP 335 (48), 331 (51), and 272 (54).  I'm using between and 8-9% fragrance load.  I will allow it to cure for 2 weeks before testing them.  I will keep you updated!  The other items I used when testing are the bowtie wick centering bars, and our candle wick trimmers.

If you've found a combination that works for you, please feel free to share your results below.

Vessel Size Wicks Results
Libbey HRB
HPSP 331 (48)
Testing...on Day 1, still too early to tell.  All 3 are looking pretty good so far.  **These all look decent so far...  **This one is starting to soot along the rim of the vessel.
Libbey HRB HPSP 300 (51) Testing...on Day 1 still too early to tell.  All 3 are looking pretty good so far. The bottom half of the candle will tell me a lot.  **These look good so far...  **The 331 and 272 seem to be doing a little better.  **This one is doing the best of all 3.  No soot at all and jar temp is good. The flame is dancing a bit, though. I'm probably going to retest the 331 and also the 335.  You can see in the videos.
Libbey HRB
HPSP 272 (54)
Testing...on Day 1 still too early to tell, but this one might be too much wick based on the size of the melt pool.  Actually, so far looking ok.  **Good so far...  **This one is sooting pretty bad!
