Fragrance Oil Duplications
Hi everyone! This is Angie from Hive & Honey 👋
I’ve received a few questions about our fragrance duplication service, so I wanted to share a quick overview of how the process works.
To get started, we’ll need either a 1–2 oz sample of the fragrance oil, reed diffuser, or perfume you’d like duplicated, or a 10–12 oz finished candle so the fragrance can be properly extracted. Once the duplication is complete, the sample will be sent back to you for review and testing.
Please be sure to include any special usage requirements with your sample. For example, if you need a minimum percentage for a specific IFRA category, include those details upfront so we can ensure accuracy.
The duplication process typically takes 6–8 weeks, so we appreciate your patience. You’ll also receive the SDS and IFRA documentation with your duplicated fragrance.
There is no upfront cost to have a fragrance duplicated. If you decide to move forward with ordering, the minimum is 15 lbs (approximately $350–$500). Final pricing will be confirmed once the fragrance has been fully extracted and evaluated.
If you’re interested, please send your sample and details to the address below. As always, we truly appreciate your support! 💛

Frequently Asked Questions
Please note that the duplication process typically takes approximately 4–6 weeks to complete. This timeframe accounts for transit time in the mail as well as processing within our lab. Turnaround may vary slightly depending on current workload and the number of projects our lab is handling at any given time.
When sending in your original sample, please be sure to clearly label it with your name and the fragrance name. We also ask that you include a note outlining your minimum usage requirements, along with the primary applications you intend to use it for—such as candles, soaps, perfumes, or other products. This helps ensure we tailor the duplication process to best suit your needs.
There is no strict limit on the number of samples you can send in at one time; however, we kindly ask that you group them in sets of no more than six fragrances per submission. This helps our lab maintain an efficient workflow and ensures each fragrance receives the attention it deserves during the duplication process.
Our minimum order is 15 lbs, as this is the smallest quantity our lab is able to produce. This requirement allows us to create a duplication that is truly tailored to your specific fragrance, ensuring accuracy and customization based on your intended applications and performance needs.
Once you receive your sample, we strongly recommend testing it in the exact application you plan to use it for. For example, if you intend to use it in candles, pour a small test batch, allow it to fully cure, and evaluate both performance and hot throw. This step is very important before placing a larger order, as it ensures the fragrance meets your expectations in real-world use. Please note that we are not responsible for performance results if the fragrance is not tested under your intended conditions.
You will receive a 2 oz sample of your duplicated fragrance by mail for evaluation. The IFRA and SDS documentation will be provided for your review, and detailed pricing information will be sent to you separately via email.
If you decide to move forward with an order, I’ll email you an invoice to get everything started. Once it’s placed, I’ll add it to our list for the next bulk shipment with our lab. From there, the average turnaround time is about 7 business days, depending on the time of year.
If your duplicated sample doesn’t meet your expectations, we’re happy to work with you on adjustments. We allow one revision to help refine the fragrance and better align it with your needs. Our goal is to get as close as possible to your vision within that revision process.
