Choose options
Our Skin-safe Room/Linen Spray base is easy to use! No additional additives are needed. We recommend a 4 - 9% fragrance load for room and linen sprays. For body mists, we recommend a 2 - 6% fragrance load. Simply add fragrance oil and stir. Wait 30 minutes and it's ready to go.
For example, when making a 10 oz batch, measure out 13 grams of fragrance oil and 269 grams (9.5 oz of base) and mix together.
Please note: Always check this against the maximum usage rate for your particular fragrance oil under the IFRA guidelines, which is found on each product page. For example, if making a room spray with fragrance that only allows 3% for room sprays (category 10B), then you are only able to use 3% load instead of the normal 4 - 9%. Make sure to test with different fragrances. FYI: Room sprays will be Category 10B on the IFRA doc. Body mists/sprays is Category 2 and perfume is Category 4.
Warning: Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with face, eyes and broken skin. Keep away from flame/high heat. Avoid direct contact with wood and other finished surfaces as it may cause discoloration. Always test on fabrics in unseen area.
How do you calculate the amount of fragrance oil to use?
First, you need to know what percentage of fragrance oil you want to use. The average usage is 6%.
Here is a basic formula:
(oz of wax using) x (% of fragrance oil you want to use) = (oz of fragrance oil needed)
For example, let's say you are using two pounds of wax and want to use 6% fragrance oil.
First, you'll need to calculate the number of ounces of wax you have:
2 x 16 (number of oz in 1 pound) = 32oz
Plug these numbers into your formula:
32 x 6% = 1.92oz
You can round up to 2oz for easy measuring on your scale.
Below, I created an easy fragrance load calculator where it will calculate the amount of fragrance oil needed in both ounces and grams.
