Candle fragrance oils crystallize due to natural components, especially vanillin, solidifying in cold temperatures, often during shipping or storage. Ingredients like coumarin, resins, or musks can also form crystals, making crystallization a sign of quality, concentrated oil. These crystals are harmless and can be easily dissolved by gently warming the oil in a hot (not boiling) water bath until clear. 

Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout. However, customers will be responsible for additional customs and duties fees for an order being shipped outside of the United States.

When it comes to our fragrance oils, I like to be transparent about what is considered an “inspired by” or duplication fragrance versus an original. Inspired by fragrances are created to closely resemble a scent that already exists, whether that’s a popular perfume, candle, or well-known fragrance. I’ll typically note the inspiration so you have an idea of what to expect. Our original fragrances, on the other hand, are unique blends that aren’t intentionally created to duplicate a specific existing scent. These are selected or developed based on scent profiles, trends, and combinations that I feel fit the Hive and Honey collection. Of course, with so many fragrances on the market, it’s always possible that a similar scent already exists that I’m simply not aware of.

Yes! All of our fragrance oils are free from phthalates, parabens and carcinogens. They are Prop 65 compliant, skin/lotion safe and cruelty free.

Due to health and sanitary concerns and to protect the integrity of our products, all fragrance oils are non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable.  We offer 2 oz sample bottles for purchase.

The shelf life of candle fragrance oils typically ranges from 6 months to 2 years, depending on factors like storage conditions, the type of fragrance oil, and its ingredients.  For the best results, store them in airtight containers, away from direct sunlight, and at a stable temperature, ideally between 50-70°F. If you’re making candles, using the oil within a year of purchase ensures maximum scent throw.

Several factors play a role, but the key is to let your candles cure for about two weeks to ensure the strongest possible scent throw, both when lit and unlit.
