Wick Testing Coco Apricot / Ceda Serica Wax & CD Wicks
Stabilo, formerly knows as CD wicks respectively, the Stabilo wicks are coreless, non-directional, flat braided cotton wicks with a special paper filament woven around them. This configuration is engineered to promote maximum and consistent capillary action while ensuring a wick trimming flame posture. The Stabilo series is used in many different applications and is especially compatible with the harder to melt viscous vegetable-based waxes.
I'm using a 3-1/8" jar and the wicks I'm using are CD 6, CD 7, CD 8, CD 10. I'm using Cashmere at 9% fragrance load. I will allow it to cure for 2 weeks before testing them. I will keep you updated! The other items I used when testing are the bowtie wick centering bars and our candle wick trimmers.
If you've found a combination that works for you, please feel free to share your results below.
|Not sure about this one. Might be too small of a wick. This one worked out decently, but cd 7 was better.
|This is decent so far. This one ended up being the winner.
|The wick is too large. It's burning pretty hot and there's soot starting to form along the rim of the vessel.
