Wick Testing Soy 10 Wax & LX Wicks
I'm currently testing Soy 10 candle wax with LX wicks. I'm hoping that this will be helpful to some when narrowing down which wicks to use. Feel free to adjust based on your wax/vessel/fragrance oil combo. I'm using a vessel that's 3-1/8" inner diameter at the top, so if yours is smaller, you will want to wick down. It's best to test a couple wick sizes in a few wick series or brands to see what you like the best! Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have any questions at all. I'm here to help.
About LX Wicks...
LX wicks are braided, coreless, flat wicks manufactured with stabilizing threads that ensure an optimum burn profile. The allows for a very stable and consistent flame, which minimizes, or eliminates, mushrooming / carbon buildup while reducing smoke and soot. These wicks are similar to Premier wicks in that they don't burn too hot.
I'm using a 3-1/8" jar and the wicks I'm using are Lx 14 (single wick), Lx 16 (single wick), and Lx 18 (single wick). I'm using Baccarat Rouge (type) fragrance oil at 8-9% fragrance load. I will allow it to cure for 2 weeks before testing them. I will keep you updated!
If you've found a combination that works for you, please feel free to share your results below.

Soy 10 | 3-1/8" | Lx 18 | I'm almost finished with this one and it's burning a tad hot. There's some soot starting to form along the rim of the vessel. Lx 18 is definitely too much for this vessel. |
