Wick Testing Coco Soy / EC26 Wax & Premier Wicks
I'm currently testing Coco Soy / EC26 candle wax with Premier candle wicks. I'm hoping that this will be helpful to some when narrowing down which wicks to use. Feel free to adjust based on your wax/vessel/fragrance oil combo. I'm using a vessel that's 3-1/8" inner diameter at the top, so if yours is smaller, you will want to wick down. It's best to test a couple wick sizes in a few wick series or brands to see what you like the best! Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have any questions at all. I'm here to help.
The Premier 700 series wicks are flat braided cotton core wicks made from textile-grade cotton. They are designed to promote clean burning and minimize mushrooming from carbon buildup. These are great wicks for coconut blended waxes because they don't burn too hot! We have Premier Wicks Sample Packs available where you receive 5 of each of the 25 different sizes available.
I'm using a 3-1/8" jar and the wicks I'm using are Premier 735 (single wick), Premier 740 (single wick), Premier 745 (single wick), and Premier 750 (single wick). I have a feeling that the Premier 735 and 740 will be too small, but I had extra wicks on hand and figured I might as well test them out. I will probably pour testers for Premier 755 and Premier 760 because I think the first 2 wicks will be too small. I'm using our Cashmere fragrance oil at 9% fragrance load. I will allow it to cure for 2 weeks before testing them. I will keep you updated!
If you've found a combination that works for you, please feel free to share your results below.

Results
Wax Type | Vessel Size | Wicks | Fragrance Load | Results |
EC26 | 3-1/8" | Premier 735 | 9% Cashmere | I think this wick will be too small. ** There is quite a bit of hangup on the sides, so this wick is definitely too small. |
EC26 | 3-1/8" | Premier 740 | 9% Cashmere | Might be too small. **There is a bit of wax hang up on the sides, so this wick is too small. |
EC26 | 3-1/8" | Premier 745 | 9% Cashmere | This could work... we will see. **This was worked OK, but the 750 was better. Tiny bit more wax hang up on the sides. |
EC26 | 3-1/8" | Premier 750 | 9% Cashmere | This wick ended up being the winner for this vessel / fragrance load combination. Jar temp was good. |
EC26 | 3-1/8" | Premier 755 | 9% Cashmere | This wick looked OK overall, but the jar temp was too high and there was a tiny bit of soot starting to form at the top of the jar. |
EC26 | 3-1/8" | Premier 760 | 9% Cashmere | I think this wick is too large for this jar. Large mushroom that had to be trimmed. |

I’ve been testing with EC26 using P 750 wicks in 2 and 3 wick tumblers @12% FO and results have been great. So far:
-no soot
-low flame
-good CT and HT
-full melt pool after 2-2.25 hours
Hope this helps someone!

Contemplating adding premier to my order today and wondering how they did for you or if you started this test yet? thx!
